Jang Un Kima

Jang Un Kim (born 1975) is a curator and critic, based in Seoul, Korea. He founded and organized the independent contemporary art laboratory, ‘normal type based in Seoul, Korea since 2009. As a curator he worked in the Alternative Space POOL (Seoul, 2001-2002), Anyang Public Art Foundation (Anyang, 2006-2007) and 2008 Gwangju Biennale: The Position Papers (Gwangju, 2008), etc. His curatorial projects include “Public Art Project: asteroid G” (Artists: Sora Kim, Art Council Korea, Gongju City Government, 2013), “Fiction Walk” (National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea, 2012), “The Adventure of Mr. Kim and Mr. Lee” (Artist: Chung Seo Young, LIG Art Hall, Seoul, 2010), “Normal Talk” (various venues, 2009-2012), “On Jouissance For Those Without Places To Return” (the 7th Gwangju Biennale, Gwangju, 2008), and “Close To You” (Gallery 27, Kaywon School of Art and Design, Uiwang, 2008). And he published his critical essay book, “On the Shores of the Contemporary Art and the Politics”(Hyunmun Publishing, 2012). He is now working as a Senior Curator (Head of Exhibition Team 2, Seoul Office) at National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea.
